Back end Engineer

Accountabilities

• Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable backend services powering real-time and AI-driven applications used by millions of users globally.
• Build and optimize APIs and distributed systems with a strong focus on performance, low latency, and reliability.
• Contribute to the development of AI agents, RAG pipelines, and LLM-based architectures integrated into production systems.
• Work with real-time messaging systems capable of supporting massive concurrency and high-throughput traffic.
• Participate in system design and architecture decisions involving sharding, distributed databases, and high-availability patterns.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ship new features and improve existing systems’ performance and scalability.
• Ensure code quality through testing practices and engineering standards, contributing to a culture of technical excellence.
  
  

Requirements

• 3+ years of backend engineering experience, ideally in high-traffic and high-performance environments.
• Strong expertise in Node.js and TypeScript.
• Solid experience building REST APIs and working with document databases such as MongoDB, AWS DocumentDB, or similar.
• Hands-on experience with testing methodologies such as TDD, BDD, or ATDD.
• Familiarity with distributed systems, real-time applications, and scalable backend architectures.
• Experience with AWS services or similar cloud environments is highly desirable.
• Nice to have: experience with Golang or other statically typed languages (Java, C#, Go).
• Nice to have: knowledge of SQL databases, React, and functional/object-oriented programming paradigms.
• Strong curiosity for AI technologies, LLMs, and agent-based systems is a plus.
• Problem-solving mindset, autonomy, and ability to thrive in fast-paced startup environments.
