Data Engineer, AWS & AI/ML Enablement College Board - Technology Location: This is a fully remote role that requires working EST hours.

Candidates who live near CB offices have the option of being fully remote or hybrid (Tuesday and Wednesday in office).

Type: This is a full-time position About the Team Aquifer is a small, highly collaborative team that implements data and analytics services powering higher‑education recruitment and student engagement for College Board's BigFuture Division.

We experiment thoughtfully and ship durable, secure data products that personalize outreach and help partners execute strategic enrollment plans.

Our team has a mix of engineers and architects that blends expertise in data engineering, analytics, and product strategy to deliver scalable solutions that transform how students connect with colleges.

About the Opportunity As a Data Engineer, AWS & AI/ML Enablement, you will design, build, and operate scalable, secure, and high-quality data platforms that power analytics, reporting, and emerging AI/ML use cases.

This role is primarily a Data Engineering position, with a strong focus on cloud-native data pipelines, analytics infrastructure, and software engineering best practices, while also partnering closely with Data Science and AI teams to enable ML-ready datasets, feature pipelines, and model production workflows.

You will work in an AWS-native, microservices environment, collaborating with Product Owners, Architects, Software Engineers, and Data Scientists to transform raw data into trusted, actionable insights and AI-enabled capabilities that drive real impact for students and higher ed partners.

In this role, you will: Data Engineering & Platform Development (60%) • Design, build, and maintain scalable batch and streaming data pipelines using AWS services such as S3, Glue, Lambda, Kinesis, Step Functions, Redshift, Athena, and DynamoDB.

AI/ML & Advanced Analytics Enablement (25%) • Partner with Data Science and AI teams to productionize ML-ready datasets, including training, evaluation, and inference data pipelines.

Collaboration, Quality & Mentorship (15%) • Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, design reviews, and peer code reviews.

About You You have:
