About LeanSite LeanSite is a facilities-automation platform helping operators, property managers, and enterprise teams manage vendors, assets, maintenance workflows, and compliance all in one system.


We serve real customers across commercial real estate, hospitality, gyms, and government contracts, and we’re scaling fast.


We’re entering a critical growth phase and need a hands-on engineering leader who can build, document, and lead not just architect in isolation.


What You’ll DoTechnical Leadership & Execution • Own the end-to-end engineering lifecycle across backend, frontend, and mobile

Actively contribute code while setting clear technical direction • Translate product requirements into clear, executable technical plans
Ensure features ship on time, tested, and production-ready • Make pragmatic architectural decisions aligned with a startup environment Documentation & Knowledge Sharing (Non-Negotiable)
Create and maintain:
API documentation
Architecture overviews • Setup and onboarding guides
Sprint-level technical notes • Ensure every major feature and system is documented
Use tools like Confluence, Notion, or similar to keep docs current • Enable new engineers to onboard without bottlenecks or tribal knowledge Team Collaboration & Culture
Lead engineers with respect, clarity, and accountability • Participate consistently in:
Standups • Sprint planning
Retros • Cross-functional reviews
Work closely with Product, Operations, Sales, and Onboarding • Foster a culture of:
Psychological safety • Clear communication
Shared ownership • No tolerance for abusive language, intimidation, or siloed behavior Delivery & Accountability
Own sprint commitments and delivery timelines • Break down work so multiple engineers can contribute effectively
Identify blockers early and communicate clearly • Balance speed with maintainability no “hero mode” engineering What We’re Looking ForRequired
6+ years of professional software engineering experience • 2+ years leading engineers in a startup or fast-moving environment
Strong experience with:
Modern backend frameworks (Node, Python, etc.)
APIs and system integrations • Frontend frameworks (React or similar)
Proven ability to document your work clearly • Comfortable working in ambiguity and building as you go
Strong written and verbal communication skills • Emotionally mature, collaborative, and solutions-oriented Nice to Have
Experience with:
Mobile apps (React Native / Flutter)
DevOps, CI/CD pipelines • Multi-environment setups (dev / staging / prod)
SaaS platforms serving real customers • Experience scaling early-stage products
Familiarity with facilities, marketplaces, or operations-heavy platforms What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days) • Engineering documentation is up-to-date and usable
Team members can work independently without constant clarification • Product velocity improves without chaos
Stakeholders trust engineering timelines again • Engineering feels like a team, not a bottleneck Job Type: Full-time Pay: Up to $50,000.00 per year Benefits:
