Department OverviewThe Evidence and Devices Engineering team is at the forefront of Motorola Solutions’ mission of Solving for Safer.

We are responsible for the end-to-end development of life-saving technologies, including body-worn cameras, vehicle-mounted systems, and the sophisticated evidence management software that first responders and enterprise security teams rely on worldwide.

Job DescriptionAs a Site Reliability Engineer, you operate at the critical intersection of software engineering and scalable systems.

We are looking for an engineer who views infrastructure through the lens of code and treats reliability as a foundational feature.

In this role, you serve as the final point of escalation for complex production issues, maintaining a 360-degree view of the stack—from application logic down to the kernel and networking layers.

You will join a high-impact, collaborative team in Sao Paulo that values proactive problem-solving and engineering rigor.

Deep-Dive Troubleshooting & ReliabilityDiagnose complex, intermittent, and high-impact issues to maintain system stabilityResearch and utilize advanced diagnostic tools to troubleshoot ongoing customer issues within live production environmentsIdentify single points of failure in the architecture to re-design systems for maximum redundancy and auto-recoveryCode-Level EngineeringAnalyze application source code in Java and Angular to identify memory leaks, race conditions, or inefficient logicPropose and implement code fixes directly to improve long-term system reliability rather than simply filing bug ticketsAdjust kernel parameters and network stack configurations to optimize low-level system performanceAutomation & ToolingBuild internal tooling to empower other engineering teams to self-serve their infrastructure needsDevelop high-quality automation to ensure that manually solved problems are never repeatedTweak database queries and application thread pools to tune the performance of the entire software stackIncident Management & ResponseServe as a critical member of the on-call rotation to respond to and mitigate major system outagesLead incident command efforts during high-pressure situations to restore service and protect critical data flowsConduct post-incident reviews to convert outages into actionable architectural improvementsBasic RequirementsTechnical Expertise5+ years of experience with Java or Angular to debug and patch application-level reliability issues5+ years of experience with Linux Internals to tune kernel parameters and network stack configurationsAdvanced English ProficiencyExpertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to build automated, repeatable environmentsExpertise in Database Optimization to refine complex queries and improve data retrieval speedsProfessional Experience5+ years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineering or DevOps role to manage high-availability production environments5+ years of experience with Cloud Infrastructure to design resilient and scalable architecturesExperience in Incident Command to lead the resolution of mission-critical system outagesSoft Skills & AttributesProactive Collaboration to foster a spirit of teamwork and shared accountability across global engineering hubsAnalytical Thinking to solve "needle-in-the-haystack" problems hidden within massive datasetsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical fieldEEO StatementMotorola Solutions is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
