Back End Developer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement scalable middleware APIs and backend services supporting user management and other core API services across Pluto TV.
• Build highly performant systems using Java (Spring Boot) and Golang, capable of handling thousands of requests per second (RPS).
• Optimize, maintain, and enhance existing high-performance services running on both AWS and GCP.
• Integrate services across Paramount Streaming platforms to ensure seamless functionality and user experience.
• Leverage GCP technologies such as Pub/Sub, GKE, and Cloud SQL to build robust, scalable, and resilient systems.
• Maintain and support AWS services including EKS, ECS, Lambda, and Step Functions during cloud transformation initiatives.
• Advocate for coding excellence and enforce software engineering best practices for high-throughput applications.
• Participate actively in system design, architecture reviews, and technical decision-making.
• Contribute to technical roadmaps and long-term platform strategies across AWS and GCP ecosystems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams, including software engineers, data engineers, product managers, and architects.
• Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing engineering culture.

Required Qualification

• sBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• .9+ years of software development experience
• .5+ years of experience building highly scalable APIs and backend services capable of processing thousands of RPS
• .Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot
• .Professional experience developing applications using Golang
• .3+ years of experience building containerized applications using technologies such as Docker
• .Hands-on experience with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, EKS, ECS, or GKE
• .Experience with GCP technologies including
