Back-End Software Engineer (TypeScript / Node.js 20+)

We are looking for a full-time, remote Back-End Software Engineer with 3+ years of backend development experience using TypeScript and Node.js to join our U.S. client. In this role, you will design and implement microservices and serverless architectures, build robust RESTful APIs, and integrate third-party services to support a growing suite of AI-powered products.

Our client is a leading software company that develops AI-powered solutions for the facility management industry. Their cloud-based platform enables organizations to manage their entire service operation from a single system, including work order management, dispatching, provider management, asset tracking, and invoicing. By delivering real-time visibility and automation, their technology helps customers improve operational efficiency, streamline maintenance processes, and optimize service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend systems using Node.js 20+ and TypeScript, building scalable microservices and serverless functions on AWS Lambda
• Build and maintain scalable multi-tenant architectures with proper tenant isolation and data security across all backend services
• Design and implement RESTful APIs, ensuring data integrity, API security (OAuth, JWT, rate limiting, versioning), and a strong developer experience
• Implement authentication and authorization flows with proper security measures across all APIs and backend systems
• Design and implement database schemas and queries using Prisma ORM and PostgreSQL; leverage DynamoDB, Redis, or similar for caching and real-time data needs
• Build serverless applications using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, EventBridge, and other AWS services
• Work with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or AWS ECS/EKS for deployment and scaling
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar to ensure seamless deployment workflows
• Write comprehensive tests (Jest, unit, integration, end-to-end) with an emphasis on TDD and clean architecture
• Participate in code reviews and collaborate effectively with front-end, product, and DevOps teams to ensure alignment with technical and business goals

Required Experience

• Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills.
• 3+ years of back-end development experience building production-grade TypeScript (Node.js 20+) services and RESTful APIs.
• 1+ years of hands-on experience with AWS Lambda and serverless technologies (API Gateway, SQS, EventBridge, S3).
• Experience with AI-assisted Development.
• Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL (schema design, query optimization) and experience with Prisma ORM or similar.
• Strong understanding of multi-tenant SaaS architecture, including tenant isolation and data security.
• Familiarity with authentication and security best practices (OAuth, JWT).
• Experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines on cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
• Proven experience delivering features for enterprise SaaS applications in startup environments.
• Collaborative, proactive, and trustworthy team player with strong problem-solving skills.

Desired Experience

• University degree or relevant industry experience
• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• Experience with AI/ML API integrations
• Field service management or B2B SaaS background
• AWS certifications
• Familiarity with Express or similar Node.js frameworks
