Data Engineering Tech Lead – Specialist
REMOTE

JOB OVERVIEW
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineering Tech Lead specializing in Analytics Systems and Applications to lead technical design, development, architecture, and delivery of enterprise data solutions.
The ideal candidate must have a strong background in Data Engineering, combined with hands-on software engineering experience in Java, Spring Boot, cloud-native technologies, microservices, and Kubernetes.
This role requires a hands-on technical leader who can guide engineering teams, drive data and analytics application development, improve software quality, and ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of enterprise systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the technical design, development, and implementation of data engineering solutions and analytics applications.
- Drive architecture and engineering best practices across data and software platforms.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to engineering teams.
- Ensure the security, quality, scalability, and reliability of analytics systems and applications.
- Design and develop cloud-native applications and microservices.
- Guide technical teams in Java, Spring Boot, GCP, and Kubernetes development.
- Promote QA culture, automated testing, and continuous integration practices.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to define technical strategies and deliver solutions.
- Manage technical roadmaps, dependencies, and engineering priorities.
- Identify opportunities to improve data platforms, system performance, and application availability.
- Lead software delivery from development through production.
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS
- 7+ years of overall software engineering experience.
- Strong professional background in Data Engineering.
- Experience developing analytics systems, data platforms, and applications.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.
- Experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Strong cloud platform experience with GCP, AWS, or Azure.
- Experience designing and developing microservices.
- Hands-on experience with GCP SDKs.
- Strong Kubernetes and GKE experience.
- Jenkins CI/CD pipeline implementation.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Helm and Terraform.
- Cloud-native application architecture and deployment.
