We are looking for a senior backend-oriented engineer to help build backend-heavy internal systems for a healthcare company. The ideal candidate will work closely with product and stakeholders to conduct discovery sessions, understand business needs, ask the right questions, design safe integrations, collaborate closely with product/ops teams, and help create the technical foundation for future growth.
Main project context:
The company provides health-related services through a network of care professionals and is building internal systems to support and scale its operations.
The work is mostly greenfield and focused on building secure internal systems for healthcare operations, including EHR and payment/billing integrations, workflow automation, professional matching, operational dashboards, and replacing spreadsheet-based processes with reliable backend logic.
Main requirements:
- Strong backend experience with TypeScript
- Experience with AWS and serverless/Lambda
- Ability to design and maintain robust third-party API integrations
- Comfortable building simple dashboards with React
- Strong product collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently in a small/early-stage environment
- Great communication in English
- Experience translating business rules into reliable backend workflows
- Senior-level judgment around architecture, data flows, error handling, and maintainability
- Familiarity with using AI tools in the software development pipeline, including planning, implementation support, code review, testing, documentation, and improving development workflows
Nice to have:
- Experience with Healthie or other EHR systems
- US healthcare experience
- Billing, invoicing, insurance, or payments experience
- Prior tech lead experience
- Experience as the first or primary engineer on a product/project
