Full Stack Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly autonomous Senior Full Stack Developer to join a technology company operating in the Digital Identity and Credential Verification space. The organization develops secure solutions that leverage verifiable credentials, identity standards, PKI infrastructure, and cloud-native architectures.

This role is heavily focused on backend engineering, infrastructure awareness, security, and technical leadership. The ideal candidate will be capable of leading architecture discussions, making technical decisions, collaborating with DevOps and Product teams, and helping design secure, scalable systems that support digital trust and identity verification solutions.

The position is approximately 80% backend/infrastructure and 20% frontend, requiring strong experience with distributed systems, cloud platforms, networking concepts, and modern software development practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices-based applications.
• Build backend services using Java, Kotlin, and modern cloud-native frameworks.
• Develop and maintain applications using Node.js and React.
• Participate in architectural decisions involving application design, infrastructure, networking, and security.
• Lead technical discussions regarding system architecture and implementation strategies.
• Collaborate closely with DevOps, Product, and Engineering teams.
• Design and document APIs using OpenAPI and Swagger.
• Develop secure solutions supporting authentication, authorization, and identity-management workflows.
• Work within containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Contribute to Proof of Concept initiatives and support their transition into production environments.
• Evaluate and utilize AI-powered development tools to improve engineering productivity.
• Produce high-quality technical documentation and deployment guidelines.
• Mentor team members and act as a technical leader within the engineering group.

Requirements

Must Have

• 5+ years of software development experience; 8-10 years preferred.
• Strong experience with Java.
• Experience with at least one of the following:
• Quarkus
• Micronaut
• Vert.x
• Spring Boot
• Kotlin
• Strong experience with Node.js.
• Experience with React.
• Hands-on experience building and supporting microservices architectures.
• Strong SQL and relational database experience.
• Experience with REST APIs and OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals:
• DNS
• TCP/IP
• Load Balancers
• SSL/TLS
• VPC concepts
• Experience working with:
• Docker
• Kubernetes
• Linux
• Experience working with cloud environments (Azure preferred; AWS or GCP accepted).
• Strong English communication skills.
• Ability to lead technical discussions and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience making architectural and design decisions independently.
