This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Gerente de Engenharia - Plataforma based in Brazil.

This leadership role sits at the core of a modern Engineering Platform organization, responsible for shaping the reliability, scalability, and performance of large-scale distributed systems. You will lead the evolution of an Internal Developer Platform, driving improvements in Developer Experience (DevXP) and enabling faster, safer, and more efficient software delivery across engineering teams. The position combines strategic vision with hands-on technical leadership, bridging SRE practices, cloud architecture, and platform engineering. You will define reliability standards, guide observability and automation strategies, and ensure engineering teams are empowered through well-designed Golden Paths. In addition, you will play a key role in mentoring engineers and building a high-performance culture focused on ownership, excellence, and continuous improvement.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will be responsible for defining and executing the strategy for platform engineering and reliability, ensuring scalable, efficient, and high-performing systems that support business growth.

  • Define, monitor, and continuously improve Service Level Objectives (SLOs), KPIs, and observability standards, focusing on reliability and reduced MTTR
  • Lead the design, rollout, and adoption of the Internal Developer Platform (IDP) and Golden Paths to streamline developer workflows
  • Develop and execute a strategic annual roadmap for the Engineering Platform aligned with product and architecture priorities
  • Drive automation initiatives to reduce operational toil, improve efficiency, and optimize cloud infrastructure costs (FinOps practices)
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of SRE and platform engineers, fostering technical excellence and ownership culture
  • Collaborate with product, architecture, and engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient platform solutions

Requirements

The ideal candidate has strong engineering leadership experience with a deep technical foundation in platform engineering, SRE, and cloud-native environments.

  • Proven experience in software engineering leadership roles with focus on SRE, Platform Engineering, or Cloud infrastructure
  • Strong background in building and scaling Internal Developer Platforms (IDP) and Developer Experience (DevXP) initiatives
  • Deep knowledge of SRE principles, observability, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and cloud environments (AWS or GCP)
  • Experience working in large-scale, distributed, high-availability systems
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary technical teams with strong focus on mentorship and talent development
  • Strong strategic thinking combined with hands-on technical depth and execution capability

Nice To Have

  • Experience with Cloud FinOps practices and cost optimization strategies
  • Cloud certifications or postgraduate studies in AWS, GCP, or SRE-related fields
  • Familiarity with IDP tools such as Backstage and GitOps practices
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps and infrastructure security practices
  • Strong product mindset applied to platform engineering and executive-level communication skills
