.NET Developer

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced .NET Developer who can take ownership of an existing application environment and think beyond individual development requests.

This role requires someone who can understand the broader platform, identify dependencies and downstream impacts, and proactively challenge or improve requirements when needed. We are not looking for a developer who simply executes a ticket. We need someone who understands the business and technical context behind the request and can determine what else needs to happen for the solution to work effectively across the platform. It will be a client-facing role working with a client in the United States, so professional-level English is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance applications using Visual Basic / VB.NET within the Microsoft .NET environment.
• Work with applications built on or integrated with Microsoft Access.
• Develop and support integrations with Oracle databases.
• Analyze requirements beyond the immediate development task and identify broader system, workflow, data, and user-experience implications.
• Take ownership of development work from initial requirement through implementation and validation.
• Investigate existing applications and workflows independently and develop a strong understanding of how different parts of the platform interact.
• Work with stakeholders to clarify requirements, identify gaps, and recommend practical solutions rather than simply implementing specifications as written.
• Use Jira to manage development work, requirements, defects, and progress.
• Support and troubleshoot EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) processes and integrations.
• Understand how AI-enabled tools and capabilities can improve development, troubleshooting, automation, workflows, and/or the broader platform.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve application architecture, processes, maintainability, and user experience.

Required Qualifications

• Strong development experience with Visual Basic / VB.NET.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Access-based applications/platforms.
• Experience working with Oracle databases, including querying and application/database integration.
• Experience using Jira in a software development environment.
• Experience with EDI, including familiarity with EDI workflows, integrations, or data exchanges.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to understand an existing application ecosystem and work independently with limited step-by-step direction.
• Ability to evaluate the downstream impact of technical changes across applications, data, integrations, and business workflows.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to ask the right questions when requirements are incomplete or could be improved.
• Advanced and fluent english.
