Product Engineer - Mobile

What you will do

Build the new Zubale mobile app from the ground up and own how it looks, feels and works for the people who use it every day.

Build & Ship Product

• Own features end-to-end from idea to production across frontend (mainly frontend) and backend.
• Ship fast with quality, on top of high-standard foundations and guardrails.
• Build our new mobile app from scratch, together with our mobile engineers.

Drive Product Decisions

• Translate product ideas into shipped experiences.
• Own the UI/UX decisions: craft simple, visually harmonious interfaces and build them yourself.

Create Leverage Through Systems

• Build reusable components, abstractions, and workflows that make the team faster over time, not just one-off solutions.

Build AI-first

• Use Claude and Cursor to accelerate development, debug faster, and explore better solutions.

Iterate & Improve

• Gather early feedback, and continuously improve what you build.
• Visit stores and talk with Zubaleros to understand how they work and what they need.

The skills and experience you will bring

• Strong Mobile Development: you have built and published mobile apps with React Native, iOS or Android
• Full-Stack Development with a front-end focus: you enjoy crafting interfaces and can also build scalable backend systems
• Mobile and web front-end experience
• A strong eye for UI/UX: you enjoy building simple, visually harmonious experiences
• A portfolio of published apps, sites or tools you have built
• Empathy for users: you enjoy talking to them and gathering feedback in person
• You want to grow as a hands-on individual contributor
• Modern Product Discovery Practices

• Stakeholder management with a non-technical audience
• Excellent communication skills
• Studies: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Engineering)
• Fully bilingual in English or Spanish

• Frontend / Mobile: React Native (strong), React, Next.js
• Languages: TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Node.js
• Backend Frameworks: NestJS, FastAPI
• AI: LangGraph, ADK, multi-agent frameworks
• Platform: Docker, Kubernetes, GCP

Is a plus

• Experience with Swift, Kotlin, Objective-C
• Experience with Elixir (or similar like Scala, Rust) to occasionally modify our legacy system
