The role focuses on building and maintaining scalable backend systems that support high-performance financial services used by users around the world. As a senior developer, you will contribute to the architecture, optimization, and security of critical backend infrastructure while collaborating with product, engineering, and design teams in an Agile environment. You will play a key role in developing secure and reliable APIs, improving platform scalability, and delivering innovative new features. Accountabilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs that support scalable and high-performance financial platforms.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, designers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into practical and efficient technical architectures.
- Improve and optimize existing backend services written in Node.js to enhance reliability, scalability, and system performance.
- Develop new backend solutions and integrations that interact with distributed services and microservice-based architectures through RPC calls.
- Write and optimize complex database queries for operational, financial, and compliance-related processes.
- Contribute to platform scalability initiatives to ensure real-time responsiveness and seamless user experiences as system demand grows.
- Apply strong security principles and best practices across backend services to protect infrastructure, transactions, and user data.
- Participate actively in Agile development processes, code reviews, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support the maintenance and evolution of backend infrastructure, messaging systems, caching layers, and job queue architectures.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience working with JavaScript and Node.js backend development.
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems design principles.
- Experience contributing to the development and maintenance of complex, large-scale platforms or applications.
- Solid experience working with relational and NoSQL databases such as MySQL and MongoDB.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies, frameworks, and engineering practices.
- Strong understanding of backend security concepts, secure API development, and infrastructure protection best practices.
- Experience with high-availability systems, scalability optimization, and real-time application performance is highly valued.
- Familiarity with blockchain integration concepts is considered a strong advantage.
- Knowledge of additional technologies such as Redis, message queues, caching systems, and job queues is preferred.
- Experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails is a plus.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills within remote and cross-functional Agile teams.
