This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Engineering Manager in Brazil.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead high-impact engineering initiatives within a globally distributed and highly technical environment focused on scalability, reliability, and security. The role is designed for a strategic engineering leader who can drive outcomes across complex infrastructure or security domains while mentoring senior talent and influencing organizational direction. You will work closely with executive leadership to define technical roadmaps, improve operational excellence, and strengthen cross-functional collaboration. The position offers significant autonomy, visibility, and the chance to shape systems supporting billions of API requests annually. Accountabilities

  • Lead and oversee multiple engineering teams or workstreams, ensuring strong delivery execution, operational health, and strategic alignment across the organization.
  • Define and drive the long-term technical vision for infrastructure, cloud platform, security, IT, or compliance domains depending on the assigned function.
  • Mentor and develop engineering managers and senior engineers through structured coaching, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives.
  • Establish scalable engineering practices focused on reliability, performance, incident response, automation, and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering leadership, finance, and other stakeholders to align priorities, manage dependencies, and communicate technical risks effectively.
  • Own roadmap planning, budgeting, staffing strategies, and organizational growth plans with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.
  • Drive architectural decision-making, proactively identify technical debt or infrastructure risks, and implement sustainable improvement plans.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, transparency, innovation, and continuous improvement across distributed engineering teams.
  • Support enterprise-level security, compliance, and infrastructure initiatives while ensuring systems remain scalable, secure, and cost-efficient.

Requirements

  • 5-7+ years of engineering management experience, including leadership responsibilities across multiple teams or large-scale technical functions.
  • Proven experience managing performance, hiring, career development, and organizational planning within engineering environments.
  • Strong technical expertise in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, security, IT operations, or compliance domains.
  • Demonstrated ability to define architectural direction, evaluate technical trade-offs, and influence senior technical stakeholders.
  • Experience operating in high-growth SaaS, API-first, or distributed technology organizations is highly valued.
  • Strong understanding of modern DevOps and cloud technologies such as AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, and SRE principles.
  • Experience managing large-scale infrastructure environments, cloud cost optimization, security operations, or compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA, or ISO 27001.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business impact.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, making strategic decisions independently, and solving complex cross-functional challenges.
  • Strong leadership presence with a proactive mindset focused on delivering solutions, driving alignment, and building high-performing teams.
