Senior Python AI Engineer

About The Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Python AI Engineer to join a strategic modernization initiative focused on transforming a large-scale enterprise platform into a modern, cloud-native architecture.

This is a hands-on senior engineering role where you'll help redesign legacy systems, build scalable backend services, and drive application migration to AWS using modern software engineering practices. You'll also leverage AI-powered development tools and explore emerging AI patterns to improve engineering productivity and system capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the migration and re-architecture of a legacy enterprise application into a modern Python-based technology stack.
• Design and develop scalable, modular backend services using Python.
• Build and maintain cloud-native applications within AWS.
• Design and optimize RESTful APIs for high-performance, distributed systems.
• Refactor legacy code and reduce technical debt while maintaining business continuity.
• Optimize SQL queries, database performance, and relational database structures.
• Design and implement microservices-based architectures.
• Integrate AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering efficiency and code quality.
• Explore modern AI capabilities such as LLM integrations, agentic workflows, and task orchestration where they provide business value.
• Collaborate with Product, DevOps, and Engineering teams to ensure reliability, scalability, security, and performance.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and production readiness.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Backend Software Engineering.
• Strong expertise with Python and backend application development.
• Solid experience designing scalable backend architectures.
• Experience building distributed systems and microservices.
• Strong SQL knowledge and relational database optimization (PostgreSQL or similar).
• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as:Lambda ECS/EKS RDS S3 SQS Cloud-native infrastructure
• Experience modernizing or migrating legacy applications.
• Familiarity with AI-powered developer tools and Large Language Model (LLM) APIs.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Strong understanding of software reliability, scalability, and performance best practices.
• Advanced English communication skills.

Nice To Have Skills

• Experience leading large application modernization or migration initiatives.
• Experience with AI orchestration frameworks.
• Knowledge of Agentic AI architectures.
• Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Experience integrating OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or similar LLM APIs.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
• Experience with high-availability enterprise applications.
• Background working in large-scale transactional systems.
• Knowledge of observability tools such as Datadog, Grafana, or Prometheus.
