About The Company

What’s Promptly in a nutshell

Promptly is building the first patient-centered global evidence network, offering real world data sharing and monetization capabilities. Together with a selected network of Partners, we generate new knowledge from harmonized datasets, augmented with the collection of longitudinal patient-reported data and patient-generated digital biomarkers within a secure and privacy-preserving environment.

We answer the question – is this patient treatment the best it could possibly be?

What’s Our Purpose

We exist to empower every patient and every health organization on the planet with evidence on the outcomes of care!

Why do we get up in the morning? Well, most healthcare professionals have chosen to work in healthcare driven by their desire to make a difference in patients’ lives. And so have we! We have chosen to follow this calling by addressing the biggest problem in healthcare: the lack of real-world evidence on the outcomes of care.

For us, society denying patients better care due to lack of access to data is unethical, in a world where technology improved so many aspects of our world. Making the right evidence available to healthcare organizations to help prevent one lost life, one care complication, one failed treatment is the moral obligation that big tech companies have – it’s our Hippocratic Oath.

At Promptly, everything we do is driven by our core purpose: to promote better healthcare at lower costs for patients every day, by making health outcomes available.

About The Role

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at Promptly, you will take end-to-end ownership of the reliability, scalability, and performance of our health core and data platform. This is not a support role — you are expected to design systems, lead reliability initiatives, and make architectural decisions that directly impact platform resilience across Europe. You will operate at the intersection of Kubernetes, distributed systems, and platform engineering, acting as a force multiplier for engineering teams. We are looking for engineers with strong product and infrastructure ownership, who proactively identify risks and drive solutions. A strong interest in leveraging AI tools to enhance SRE workflows, automation, and operational efficiency is a significant plus.

What You’ll Be Expected To Do

  • Architect, design, and operate production-grade Kubernetes platforms across hybrid environments — from major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) to bare-metal and VMware on-premises infrastructure.
  • Own and evolve reliability strategy: define SLOs/SLIs, manage error budgets, and drive measurable improvements in system availability and performance.
  • Lead incident response and post-incident analysis, identifying systemic weaknesses and ensuring long-term remediation.
  • Design and implement scalable CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks to standardize and automate infrastructure across environments.
  • Build and evolve advanced observability systems (metrics, logs, traces) to provide actionable insights across distributed services and data pipelines.
  • Partner with engineering leadership to influence system design, ensuring reliability, security, and cost-efficiency are built in from the start.
  • Drive platform-level initiatives, reduce operational toil, and mentor other engineers on SRE best practices.

Must-have Skills

  • Deep, production-level experience with Kubernetes, including cluster design, scaling strategies, networking, and failure recovery across cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Strong experience operating in multi-cloud and hybrid infrastructures (AWS, Azure, GCP, VMware, bare-metal).
  • Advanced proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Helm), with a focus on reusable and scalable platform patternsStrong programming/scripting skills in Golang (preferred), Python, or Bash, with the ability to build internal tooling and automation.
  • Proven experience defining and operating SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets in production environments.
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, service discovery, virtual networks, load balancing, ingress, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with observability ecosystems (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, OpenTelemetry, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead incident response and drive systemic reliability improvements

Nice to have (but strong differentiators)

  • Advanced Kubernetes expertise, including Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs) and controller patterns.
  • Experience with multi-cluster management, platform engineering, and GitOps workflowsRelevant certifications such as CKA or CKS.
  • Strong experience in security and compliance-driven environments (e.g., Health Tech, fintech, regulated industries).
  • Familiarity with modern data platforms (Kafka, Trino, Apache Iceberg, Spark).
  • Experience building internal developer platforms or SRE tooling.
  • Active use of AI-assisted engineering tools to improve productivity, incident analysis, and automation.

Position

  • Remote-first
  • Full time
