Shopify Front-end Developer (Themes & CRO)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Shopify Front-end Developer (Themes & CRO) based in Brazil.

As a Shopify Front-end Developer, you will be responsible for building and optimizing high-performing ecommerce experiences for brands operating in competitive digital markets. This role combines advanced Shopify development expertise with a strong conversion-focused mindset, allowing you to directly impact online sales performance, user experience, and store scalability. You will work closely with business leaders and creative teams to transform ideas into technically robust and visually engaging ecommerce solutions. As a key technical contributor, you will have ownership over store improvements, experimentation, and performance optimization while working remotely with international brands.

Accountabilities

• Develop and customize Shopify themes, sections, and functionalities using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Build fully editable ecommerce experiences through Shopify’s native editor, enabling teams to update content without technical assistance.
• Configure metafields and metaobjects to create dynamic product experiences and scalable content structures.
• Create custom product templates, landing pages, and campaign-focused experiences for launches and promotional events.
• Integrate third-party ecommerce tools such as email marketing platforms, subscription solutions, and review systems while maintaining design consistency.
• Optimize website performance, loading speed, and Core Web Vitals, with a strong focus on mobile experiences.
• Audit key ecommerce pages, including homepage, product pages, collections, and checkout flows, and proactively recommend improvements.
• Plan, execute, and analyze A/B tests to improve conversion rates and implement successful optimizations.
• Adapt ecommerce stores to seasonal campaigns and evolving business strategies.
• Support technical analysis for new business opportunities by reviewing websites and recommending ideal Shopify architectures.
• Document releases, provide editing guides, and monitor store performance after updates.
• Leverage AI development tools to improve productivity while applying strong technical judgment and quality control.
  
  

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on Shopify development experience with custom coding, beyond store management or page-builder solutions.
• Advanced knowledge of Shopify development, including Liquid, theme architecture, theme editor, metafields, and metaobjects.
• Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript with experience applying mobile-first development principles.
• Solid understanding of web performance optimization and ecommerce user experience best practices.
• Demonstrable portfolio featuring at least three real Shopify stores with measurable traffic or revenue impact, including clear examples of personal contributions.
• Advanced ability to use AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, Cursor, or similar platforms, including reviewing and improving generated code.
• Strong communication skills, autonomy, ownership mindset, and the ability to provide constructive feedback openly and professionally.
• Experience with conversion rate optimization (CRO), A/B testing, and product page optimization is highly valued.
• Previous experience working with ecommerce agencies, Shopify-focused teams, or direct-to-consumer brands is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Spanish or European ecommerce brands and seasonal commercial calendars is a plus.
