Overview

We are looking for a highly analytical and business-oriented Senior Data Scientist to join our team in Brazil. In this role, you will lead the development and implementation of advanced forecasting and predictive analytics solutions that drive business performance and strategic decision-making.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain, transforming complex data into actionable insights while helping shape forecasting best practices across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy advanced statistical and machine learning models to improve demand forecasting accuracy and responsiveness.
  • Drive forecasting excellence by establishing scalable methodologies, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to integrate multiple data sources and improve end-to-end demand visibility.
  • Translate complex analytical findings into clear business recommendations and strategic insights.
  • Analyze demand patterns, customer behavior, and market dynamics to support business planning and decision-making.
  • Incorporate external factors such as macroeconomic indicators, pricing trends, and weather data into predictive models.
  • Monitor forecast performance using key metrics such as MAPE, Bias, and Forecast Value Added (FVA).
  • Lead root-cause analysis of forecast deviations and implement corrective actions to improve accuracy.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance forecasting processes, model performance, and business outcomes.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
  • Proven experience in Data Science, preferably focused on forecasting, predictive analytics, or demand planning.
  • Strong expertise in time series forecasting techniques, including ARIMA, SARIMA, Prophet, and related methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with machine learning algorithms such as Random Forest, XGBoost, and other predictive models.
  • Proficiency in Python for data analysis, modeling, and automation.
  • Experience handling large datasets and building data pipelines as SQL, PySpark, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with data visualization and reporting platforms, such as Power BI.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to business stakeholders.
  • Intermediated English proficiency.


Additional Information

  • Location: São José dos Campos/SP - Brazil
  • Hybrid On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for three (3) days per work week (with core collaboration days of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday).
