Responsibilities

Platform Architecture & Strategy

  • Own end-to-end platform architecture for SRS, making long-term design decisions that balance scalability, resiliency, security, and cost.
  • Define and evolve platform roadmaps, aligning with SRS release strategy and enterprise technology standards.
  • Act as a technical authority for platform-related decisions, reviews, and escalations.

Engineering Leadership

  • Lead the design and implementation of complex platform capabilities, including self-service infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and observability frameworks.
  • Set and enforce engineering best practices for automation, reliability, security, and compliance.
  • Mentor and coach Platform Engineers (P3 and below), raising overall team capability and technical maturity.
  • Drive adoption of modern engineering patterns (Everything-as-Code, SRE principles, Chaos Engineering).

Platform Operations & Reliability

  • Ensure platforms meet availability, performance, and resiliency SLOs for mission-critical servicing applications (insurance, fee processing, regulatory logic).
  • Lead response and root cause analysis for high-severity incidents, particularly during SRS release windows.
  • Design and improve on-call models, runbooks, and operational automation to reduce toil and operational risk.

Automation, Security & Compliance

  • Architect and implement advanced automation for infrastructure provisioning, environment management, and CI/CD using Terraform, Ansible, and Azure DevOps.
  • Embed security-by-design and compliance-by-default into the platform (e.g., automated controls, Splunk SIEM integration, SSL enforcement, audit readiness).
  • Partner with cybersecurity and risk teams to proactively address platform risks and regulatory requirements.

Observability & FinOps

  • Define and own observability standards using OpenTelemetry, Grafana, and Splunk, ensuring actionable telemetry and proactive alerting.
  • Lead FinOps optimization, identifying cost drivers, defining scaling strategies, and driving cost transparency for SRS platforms.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with product, servicing, and release teams to enable faster, safer delivery of customer value.
  • Represent the SRS platform in enterprise-level forums, contributing to broader platform and cloud strategy.

Required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Extensive experience across the SDLC: architecture design, automation, CI/CD, observability, security, and operations.
  • Deep expertise in cloud infrastructure (Azure preferred) and large-scale distributed systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Java, Go, Python, Bash.
  • Advanced hands-on experience with DevOps and SRE tooling: Azure DevOps, Terraform, Ansible, GitHub, Docker, Kubernetes, Splunk, OpenTelemetry, Grafana.
  • Proven experience designing and operating enterprise-grade platforms supporting high-availability and regulatory workloads.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence technical direction across teams.

Preferred / Plus

  • Expert-level experience with Oracle WebLogic Server, including architecture, performance tuning, and production troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting financial or regulatory servicing systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership in incident management, postmortems, and continuous improvement initiatives.
