Web Design Engineer (React + Figma)

Remote — Open to candidates across Latin America

FX Replay is looking for a Web Design Engineer who combines strong visual and product design skills with hands-on frontend development.

This is a hybrid design + development role. We're looking for someone who can take an idea from Figma to production: designing polished, intuitive web experiences and personally building them with modern frontend technologies.

You should be equally comfortable thinking about how an experience should look and feel and opening the codebase to build it.

Portfolio Required

A strong portfolio showcasing web/UI work that you personally designed and/or built is required to be considered for this position.

Please include a link to your portfolio with your application. Applications without a portfolio will not move forward in the process.

What You'll Do

  • Design polished, responsive web experiences in Figma and bring them to life in production.
  • Own web experiences from concept and UX/UI through frontend implementation and launch.
  • Build reusable, production-ready components using React and TypeScript.
  • Create and maintain design systems, component libraries, variables, and design tokens.
  • Work on acquisition funnels, landing pages, pricing experiences, checkout and subscription flows.
  • Integrate REST APIs and handle authentication, user states, async data, loading, error, and empty states.
  • Ensure excellent responsive behavior, accessibility, technical SEO, and Core Web Vitals.
  • Collaborate with Product, Marketing, and Engineering while maintaining strong individual ownership.
  • Use analytics and user behavior to identify opportunities to improve usability and conversion.
  • Participate in experimentation and A/B testing, turning hypotheses into measurable product improvements.
  • Use AI-assisted tools and workflows to accelerate design and development while maintaining a high quality bar.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of professional experience in web/frontend development, product design, or a hybrid design-engineering role.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating excellent visual/UI judgment and real web experiences.
  • Strong Figma skills, including components, auto layout, variables, design systems, and interactive prototypes.
  • Strong React and TypeScript skills.
  • Solid HTML, CSS, and JavaScript fundamentals.
  • Experience translating your own designs or Figma concepts into production-quality frontend experiences.
  • Experience integrating APIs and working with real application states.
  • Strong understanding of responsive design, accessibility, web performance, and modern frontend best practices.
  • Ability to work independently, investigate unfamiliar codebases, and take ownership from idea to production.
  • Excellent spoken and written English. You should be comfortable participating in meetings and day-to-day conversations fully in English.

We'd Love to See

These aren't all required, but they'll make you stand out:

  • Experience with Astro.
  • Growth-oriented web development, CRO, acquisition funnels, or conversion optimization.
  • A/B testing and experimentation.
  • GA4, Google Tag Manager, or similar analytics/tracking tools.
  • Experience designing or optimizing landing pages, pricing pages, checkout, or subscription flows.
  • Technical SEO and structured data.
  • Experience with CMS-driven websites.
  • AI-assisted design and development workflows.
  • Experience connecting design systems between Figma and frontend code.

You'll Probably Love This Role If...

You're the kind of person who can open Figma, explore an idea, refine the UX and visual design, and then open your editor and build it yourself.

You care about details. You notice spacing, hierarchy, interactions, responsiveness, performance, and the small things that make a web experience feel polished.

You're not only interested in making something look good — you want to understand whether it works, how users interact with it, and how it can be improved.

Most importantly, you're a builder who enjoys taking ownership and shipping high-quality experiences from design to production.

Before You Apply

Please make sure your application includes a link to your portfolio.

We want to see what you've designed and built. Your portfolio will be an important part of our initial evaluation.
