About This Role

Ria built its business on storefronts and in-person service. Now we're meeting our customers where they already are: on WhatsApp. We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer Team Lead to drive that experience.

You'll lead our WhatsApp squad, the team that builds the chatbot, APIs, and conversational experiences that let customers connect with Ria through WhatsApp. These services handle millions of transactions, and you'll own how they're designed, scaled, and evolved.

What You'll Do

• Lead, grow, and support the engineering team behind our WhatsApp squad.
• Translate product strategy into clear, achievable technical roadmaps.
• Guide architecture and technical design decisions across the team's systems.
• Act as the bridge between engineering and cross-functional teams (Product, Design, and others) to support the growth of our WhatsApp channel.
• Raise the bar on engineering excellence through code reviews, mentoring, and adoption of best practices.
• Stay hands-on: coding is part of the job. You'll regularly contribute alongside the team, keeping you close to the systems and the craft while balancing your leadership responsibilities.
  
  

What You Bring

• 8+ years building production software systems end to end.
• Proven experience leading and mentoring engineering teams and helping individual contributors grow.
• Strong system design expertise, including scalable distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and microservices, with the judgment to make high-impact architectural decisions.
• Strong backend proficiency in C# / .NET (preferred). Experience with other OOP languages such as Java, Kotlin, or Go is also welcome.
• Strong SQL skills, including designing efficient schemas, writing and optimizing complex queries, and troubleshooting performance issues in production databases.
• Solid experience across the full software delivery lifecycle in production, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, observability, and release practices that keep systems reliable at scale.
• Working frontend fluency with Vue.js, React, or equivalent frameworks.
• A product mindset: you think about customer impact, not just technical implementation.
• Clear, concise communication. You can distill a complex requirement into a simple message without losing what matters, and you can explain technical concepts to any audience.
• Fluency with AI tools. You use AI assistants and coding tools effectively in your day-to-day work, know where they add value and where human judgment is essential, and can help your team adopt them responsibly.
• A bias for action and comfort with ambiguity. You move quickly while maintaining quality and compliance
